On this page we are giving some samples of absurd logic that hardly make sense except in discussions about Islam.
Following the arrest of two German converts (to Islam) who were planning terrorist attacks, Margot Kässmann, bishop of Germany’s largest Protestant Church, in all seriousness stated that converts to Christianity also tend to adhere very strictly to their new-found faith. Nobody made much of this comment, yet we have never heard about any Christian converts planning or executing attacks upon an unsuspecting public. These very strict Christians presumably confine their stringent disapproval to profoundly protesting abortion, euthanasia, birth control, pre-marital carnal relations, and the like.
A newspaper article informs us that the Koran verse wherein we read that a man has the right to beat his wife/wives is actually a mistranslation. The article then refers us to a Koran translation that shows the same error. Read further.
Actually, the Shariah is not a problem
When it is being pointed out that certain elements in Islamic law, the Shariah, are gruesome and repugnant – e.g., the stoning for adultery and the killing of apostates, Muslims reply dismissively that the Shariah is not really much of a problem these days since it is no longer fully enforced in the majority of Islamic nations. This reaction is entirely beside the point. The problem is that these laws are well-known, are clearly stated, and can be re-introduced at any given moment whenever there exists “a strong enough public support platform” for them. This happened in Iran following the Islamic revolution, when stoning was re-introduced and the minimum marriage age for girls was lowered to nine years. This is now also happening in Somalia and the autonomous regions in Pakistan that are in the process of re-introducing the complete Shariah.
There exists untrammelled freedom of religion in Islam (debate with youngsters)
But what about the apostates? Aren’t they condemned to death under Islamic law? Yes, that’s correct. Well, they aren’t free then, are they? Yes, they are. They are given the free choice to change their religion and be killed. That is the freedom offered them by Islam. Nobody forces them to change. It’s all up to them what to decide, it’s their own free choice.
